About Texcity Arts and Science College

Texcity Arts and Science College, a milestone in education, was founded in the year 1998 and is situated on Palathurai Road, near Madukkarai Market. Texcity Arts and Science College is affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. It is run by the Texcity Medical and Educational Trust, rendering the ideals of service to the underprivileged strata of society.

This Trust was constituted by highly philanthropic-minded persons with the involvement of people from adjacent towns and cities, apart from the active participation of philanthropists from the neighbouring state of Kerala. The Trust concentrates on providing education and also intends to serve in the field of medicine.

Recognising the importance of higher education, the Trust submitted a proposal to the Government of Tamil Nadu and Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, to establish and run an Arts and Science College at Coimbatore and fulfilled the norms stipulated by the Government and the University.

As per G.O. No. 171 dated 27-08-1998 and University Letter No. 14421/A1/97 dated 27-08-1998, the college came into being on 31st August 1998, offering Undergraduate Degree Courses. The College has established a place for itself among students interested in learning and pursuing higher moral and social values.

Medium of Instruction: English is the medium of instruction. Tamil is offered under Part-I. Subject to adequate student strength, the College may arrange coaching for Hindi, Malayalam, Arabic and Urdu. Students are required to pay the applicable language exemption fee to the University.
